Beyond Blocks Psychology has partnered with an experienced Speech and Language Pathologist to provide multidisciplinary expertise in the assessment and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Areas of assessment will include cognition, language, social communication, adaptive functioning, and developmental history. This typically involves:
- ADOS-2 (the "gold standard" observation assessment tool for ASD)
- Developmental Interview
- Intellectual Assessment
- Adaptive Functioning Assessment
- Speech and Language Assessment
- Review of previous assessment reports and consultation with your current care providers
A comprehensive assessment is critical to offer an accurate diagnosis, guide interventions, and inform program planning. We will explore the possibility of any developmental diagnosis, not just Autism Spectrum Disorder. Following the assessment, a report will be completed that reviews the diagnostic findings and recommendations for ongoing care. Resources and services will be discussed with parents/caregivers, and any needed referrals will be supported by the team.
Fees
Assessment fees will vary depending on the age of the child and the complexity of the assessment. Time involved may range from 15 to 18 hours of service. All assessments include clinical interviews, standardized assessment tools, scoring and interpretation, report writing, and a debrief session to discuss findings and recommendations.
